Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service partners with Luminus to protect vulnerable residents
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service has teamed with housing provider Luminus to install two automatic fire suppression systems in the homes of vulnerable residents in Cambridgeshire.
The assistive technology is aimed at those who may be living at home alone or are less likely to be able to escape in the event of a fire.
Group commander Kevin Napier, head of community fire safety for CFRS, said: “We work hard to ensure the most vulnerable people in our communities are supported to live well and stay safe from a fire in their home.
“We offer a range of free support, including our Safe and Well visits offered across Cambridgeshire.
“By installing these automatic fire suppression systems in the homes of those who are most at risk, we can help keep Cambridgeshire’s most vulnerable residents safe.”
CFRS has been working in partnership with Luminus since 2015, with a Primary Authority Scheme (PAS) agreement. PAS partnerships were created to allow for national consistency in the way that fire services support and advice on fire safety for businesses.
